The botanical name of Apricot is Prunus Armeniaca L and belongs to the Rosaceae family. In older day Apricots were cultivated in 2000 BC. In India it is mainly produced in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh. There are varieties of Apricots found in India. Apricots can be consumed raw as well as dry. It is very much used in ayurvedic medicines. Drying Apricots makes it dry. The drying process is carried out without damaging the fruit and its nutritional values.
