Kodo, Koda, or Arke millet is one of the most popular and widely consumed superfoods. In Sanskrit, the Kodo millet is called Kodrava and it has its roots in the seventeenth century. Being an annual drought plant its seeds are tiny and its colour varies from light brown to dark grey. In the ancient Ayurvedic text, the Kodo millet is classified as langhana. It means it brings light to the body when consumed. Kodo millet also comes under the category of Trina Dhanya Varga which means grains that are produced by grass-like plants.
